"And if Allah had pleased (Allah) would have made you a single people, but that (Allah) might try you in what (Allah) gave you. So vie one with another in virtuous deeds. To Allah you will all return, so (Allah will inform you of that wherein you differed." (Sura 5:48, from the Koran of Islam).
It is an uplifting consideration to think that we are separated from each other for the purpose of vying with each other in the pursuit of benevolent deeds. Do you ever participate in a charitable competition between multiple groups who try to maximise the contributions given for the greater benefit of the community?
