Week 7 Day 4; Buddhism; Sonadanda Sutta 20

" 'If Angaka, Sirs, should kill living things, and take what has not been given, and go the way of the adulterer, and speaks lies, and drink strong drink, what then, Sirs, would his colour avail him? What the verses? What his birth?' " (Sonadanda Sutta 20, from the Digha Nikaya of Buddhism).
After proclaiming the prerequisites of fair skin complexion, knowledge of scripture, and reputable birth lineage, the Brahmin Priest, Sonadanda, explains to his colleagues that such are unnecessary to be considered a True Brahmin; that instead a Brahmin need only have righteousness and wisdom. What prerequisites do you consider to exist in order to classify an individual as authoritative?
Love And Peace.
