"Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from (Yerushalayim) and said, 'Why do your disciples transgress the traditions of the elders?' " (Matthew 15:1 - 2, from the Gospels of Christianity).
After being challenged regarding his abstinence from washing hands before eating (per Jewish custom), Jesus responds by commenting that his critics honour some customs of the ancestors that abrogate other religious doctrines of the ancestors. Do you ever experience a contradiction within the religious doctrine or rituals of your parents? How do you proceed in reconciling that contradiction?
